British beef is amongst the most efficient and sustainable in the world due to extensive, grass-based farming systems. This year, Great British Beef Week is taking place from 23rd to 30th April and will be a celebration of this, focusing on how the industry can become more sustainable.
To mark the occasion, we’ve shared our favourite beef recipes for you to enjoy this April. From your traditional roast beef dinner to Korean-style BBQ beef, we’ve got something for everyone.
Roast Beef
The traditional Sunday roast dinner is a firm British favourite. Sure to be a winner for the whole family, this roast beef tenderloin with red wine and shallots is the perfect dish for your next Sunday roast – or whenever you fancy! The homemade shallot and red wine sauce makes the beef just melt in your mouth. Serve with your traditional roast dinner trimmings or mash potato and vegetables to finish.
Korean-style BBQ beef
Fancy trying something a bit different this week? Why not try this Korean-style BBQ beef, topped with garlic, onion, pear, spring onions,and handmade soy marinade? Using only a handful of ingredients, this is a quick and easy recipe. For best results, marinade the beef and leave in the fridge overnight, and serve with rice and your choice of side dishes – how about this Korean green salad?
Herby beef stroganoff pasta
This herby beef stroganoff pasta is a firm favourite and definitely one to try out for Great British Beef Week. Slice your rump steak thinly and sear until browned on both sides, then set aside. Repeat with the mushrooms, then start making your sauce. While your pasta is cooking, add your shallots to the pan then stir in the Dijon mustard, tomato puree, crème fraiche, and seasoning. Once cooked, serve with the sauce and sprinkle parsley on top.
Tex-mex beef tacos
For those fancying Mexican, these tex-mex beef tacos are a must. All you need is 500g of lean minced beef, garlic, Mexican spices, seasoning, and taco shells. Brown your mince in the frying pan, then add the garlic, oregano, and spices. Once ready, serve in the taco shells with your choice of toppings – coriander, a squeeze of lime juice, lettuce, and grated cheese.
