Kitchen by Liquid: December Round Up

Our December at Kitchen by Liquid has indeed been busy – from events, to photoshoots, to more chocolate than you could throw a snowman’s arm at, here’s a roundup of everything that kept us busy last month.

We kicked off December with the production of more than 450 beautifully handmade and individually decorated chocolates by master pastry chef and now chocolatier, our very own Olivier. The sweet treats were used to fill branded gift boxes, designed by our in-house design team. Through a collective effort of Liquid by Kitchen team members, 50 boxes were packed, posted, or hand delivered to clients, wishing them a Merry Liquid Christmas.

The Christmas events calendar got going on December 7th with the Female Entrepreneurs Network Christmas drinks and canapes. Hosted by Liquid’s CEO Lis, herself a member of the group, the evening saw plentiful pouring of pink fizz and the most beautiful festive feast of canapes. The highlights included: Mini goat’s cheese and caramelised onion tarts, smoked salmon and Maple caviar blinis, Bailey’s flavoured macaron snow men, and miniature yule logs – Olivier really flexed his patisserie muscles for this one!

The events kept coming with the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network Christmas away day hosted at Liquid. This saw 40 people welcomed to Kitchen by Liquid’s event space for mingling, presentations, a Christmas lunch spread including turkey and all the trimmings, a competitive gingerbread man decorating session judged by Olivier, team building exercises, and rounded off by the obligatory Christmas Quiz. Members of the WMAHSN team sported their best Christmas outfits and enjoyed spending time together in person after what seems a lifetime of working from home and meeting virtually.

This month also saw the planning and delivery of a shoot for our client Maple from Canada to create content for Pancake Day. The shoot included photography, videography and sound recording of five pancake themed recipes, developed by Olivier, that showcase pure Canadian maple syrup. The amble kitchen space allowed the photographer and video crew to work on different recipes simultaneously. The content created at the shoot will be used by Liquid’s social, digital and PR teams in the coming months.

On the theme of recipe development, Olivier really has been busy developing recipes using sweet potatoes. From vegan air-fryer pizzas to sweet potato custard tarts and macarons, Olivier’s research and recipe development skills have been put to the test.
