September was an exciting month for Kitchen by Liquid. From shooting nostalgic recipes to charity supper clubs and hosting another cooking event with leading food charity, FoodCycle – our food team has been busy working on lots of great projects.

Teambuilding with FoodCycle

We were thrilled to host Food Cycle for a teambuilding event twice this month. The charity brings communities together through shared meals while tackling food poverty, loneliness, and waste. Participants took part in Ready Steady Cook-inspired challenges, creating delicious dishes from surplus food. Known as Food Invention Challenges, these activities encourage teams to combine creativity and sustainability in support of FoodCycle’s community meals across the UK. Our open plan kitchen is the perfect setting for this initiative, with each session welcoming participants who contribute vital funds for FoodCycle’s essential services.

Dining with Dignity: Supporting the conversation around hospice care

Also in September, our wonderful event space was transformed as we held a stakeholder supper club for Birmingham Hospice. The evening welcomed guests from across the West Midlands. We loved hosting the Mayor of the West Midlands Richard Parker, Anita Bhalla OBE, the Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands, High Sheriff Doug Wright MBE, local journalists and lots more for a special awareness raising event.  The evening brought people together over delicious food to talk about important issues the hospice is facing and helped to spark important conversations.

The event highlighted the hospice’s vital work and raised awareness about the funding challenges currently faced by the sector. Liquid’s Development Chef, Olivier Briault, crafted a delicious range of dishes for our guests to enjoy during this insightful evening with some of Birmingham’s most influential figures.

Throwing it back: Part one of the Maple from Canada UK Newstalgia shoot

Phase one of our “Newstalgia” themed shoot for Maple from Canada UK took us on a delightful nostalgic journey back in time through the creativity of food. The team crafted a retro-style setting in the kitchen, setting the scene to shoot comforting dishes with a twist of pure Canadian maple syrup.

From ham and cheese toasties with maple hot sauce to maple fudge milkshakes, the kitchen truly came to life with a mix of comforting dishes and retro styling of vintage rotary dial phones and vinyl records.

Ambassador shoot with leading Chef, James Golding

Liquid Kitchen also had the pleasure of hosting Maple from Canada UK ambassador, Always in Season podcast host and renowned chef, James Golding. Once again, James wowed us with his culinary skills, presenting a delightful selection of maple-infused dishes. As a passionate Maple from Canada UK ambassador, James is dedicated to promoting sustainable food practices and supporting local producers, using his love for education to inspire others right here in our Liquid Kitchen.

Our team was on hand to capture photos and videos, and we conducted a quick-fire interview with James on eating seasonally this Autumn and why he thinks there has been a rise in nostalgic recipes. The Liquid Kitchen served as a vibrant culinary content space where James curated two recipes. Gearing up for a sweet Christmas and NY with North Carolina Sweetpotato Commission

During this busy month at Kitchen by Liquid, we also hosted a two-day shoot for our client, North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission, where our in-house development chef, Olivier, crafted six Christmas and new year’s creative recipes using all things sweetpotato. Our content team captured stunning photography and engaging social media content to help promote the recipes across Instagram.

Dishes included a sweetpotato yule log (trust us – it’s delicious), sweetpotato wellington, roast turkey with sweetpotato sides and more.

Goatsbridge Trout shoot

We had the pleasure of kicking off a product photoshoot for our client, Goatsbridge Trout, a renowned name in the fishing industry. Known for their commitment to quality and sustainability, Goatsbridge  expanded its range in the UK with the launch of a hot smoked trout fillets line. This initial shoot captured four Goatsbridge products in its brand-new packaging to promote to UK consumers and retail buyers. The next shoot will consist of product photography only to highlight the quality of fish Goatsbridge Trout’s farm brings to the food industry. We cannot wait to see what October brings for Kitchen by Liquid and to see more of these vibrant shoots.
