It’s been another busy month for the Kitchen by Liquid team, as the kitchen doors have opened to a number of local businesses.
From a Transatlantic networking event with mini hotdogs and sliders to celebrate Tthanksgiving, through to a pâtisserie masterclass for chefs from local Indian restaurants to expaend their repertoire, we’ve had a busy but enjoyable month and wanted to share some behind the scenes insights below.
Welcome to Birmingham Cook-A-Long
As we’re situated in the heart of Colmore BID, Oliver and the team welcomed over 20 local business people from our neighbouring buildings into the kitchen for a cook-a-long session as part of the BID’s ‘Welcome to Birmingham’ series.
The series of events are designed to give professionals the opportunity to network, make new friends and experience what the district has to offer…saving us from peering into people’s windows on the walk to the office!
Our event focused on how to make easy, healthy meals on a low budget, ideal for encouraging young professionals to get creative in the kitchen and make their own breakfasts and lunches.
Olivier provided demonstrations on how to make blueberry muffins, homemade baked beans with bacon, maple shakshuka, and bacon, banana and maple caramel pancakes. Not only did the guests learn how to make these delicious recipes, but they also got to enjoy the yummy examples that Olivier had made – win win!
Pâtisserie masterclass
On 15th November, we hosted a pâtisserie masterclass with six chefs from local Indian restaurants. Guided by Olivier, attendees learnt how to make a range of restaurant quality desserts including maple caramel, spicy chai crème brûlée, raspberry caviar and banana soufflé.
The chefs left confident that they could whip up these treats in their own kitchens and also got to enjoy the examples that Olivier had made as part of his demonstrations.
If this sounds like something that you’d love to experience too, we have a range of both demonstration and masterclass experiences on offer – click here to take a look at our classes.
Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce Thanksgiving Dinner
On 23rd November, we welcomed the Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce who hosted their Thanksgiving Dinner in our development kitchen with professionals from across the pond.
Olivier channelled his knowledge of traditional American cuisine and whipped up some delicious treats for our 47 guests. From beef burgers, hot dogs and pumpkin and sweet potato pies, to mini New York cheesecakes and peanut butter and caramel cookies, the food went down a treat!
If hearing about the yummy treats that come out of our kitchen has made your mouth water, why not get in touch about your very own experience? And keep an eye out for next month’s highlights, where we’ll have plenty of Christmassy highlights!
