April was a busy month, creating eerie North Carolina sweetpotato dishes, getting summer ready with the help of pure Canadian maple syrup, and assisting with an Air Ambulance calendar shoot.
Spooky sweetpotato shoot
This month, the team got into the spooky spirit with a Halloween shoot for our client, the North Carolina Sweetpotato Commission. Our in-house development chef, Olivier, developed six Halloween-inspired recipes featuring the orange superfood, a sweetpotato. These included a sweetpotato vegan sausage roll hand, sweetpotato mummy pie, and a spiced sweetpotato and banana smoothie.
Our talented content and creative team pulled out all the stops for the shoot, with dim lighting, an array of scary props, and even chilling Halloween music to set the tone.
The recipes will now be used in marketing for the client across our three key territories, the UK, France, and Germany, starting with the press office team issuing to long lead consumer titles and securing forward features in trade titles. Our in-house social media team will soon begin to curate posts for our key channels, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, bringing awareness to the versatility and health benefits of sweetpotatoes.
Sizzling summer with Maple Syrup
Our second shoot in April was for our client, Maple from Canada UK, focusing on summer-inspired recipes. For the shoot, our digital team looked at keyword terms on Google, our social media team looked at trending recipes, and our press office team reviewed conversations with journalists on what they are focusing on. From this, Olivier created five mouth-watering recipes.
The recipes all featured pure Canadian maple syrup and encapsulated key trends; health and well-being with a nutritious ginger shot, low and non-alcoholic drinks with two delicious mocktails, and ‘fakeaways’ with a stone-baked pizza and loaded fries recipe.
Our content and creative team then worked seamlessly with our in-house food stylist, Jess, to capture sun-sational images, which the team will now use in press pitching and on social media.
Midlands Air Ambulance Calendar shoot
Not only do we use our kitchen space for our clients, but we often hire out the space to companies or individuals looking for a fully equipped, beautifully designed kitchen for their work.
This month, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, who operate and fund three air ambulances covering six Midlands counties, hired the kitchen space for a two-day shoot for its 2025 calendar. The theme was ‘rapid response’, and the paramedics had developed quick and easy recipes for people to recreate at home. The calendar will feature recipe cards to accompany the captured imagery for people to follow the steps.
Jess assisted with food styling throughout the shoot and worked closely with the photographer to get the best shots of this creative campaign, and Olivier was on hand to assist with any last-minute recipe developments.
