Here at Kitchen by Liquid, we have some exciting news to share with you… Following the successful launch of our state-of-the-art development kitchen as a hireable space, we’re thrilled to be introducing our very own cookery school.

Our Development Chef, Olivier Briault, is an expert when it comes to whipping up delicious recipes and now it’s time for him to share his wisdom with the rest of the world. From practical experiences to expert masterclasses, he’ll be leading our range of cookery classes which cater to a variety of skill levels and cover a number of cuisines.

Olivier has previously worked as head pastry chef at iconic Birmingham hotel The Edgebaston, as well as a stint at Michelin-starred restaurant Simpsons, so you can guarantee that you’ll be learning from the best.

Mouth-watering macarons

For those with a sweet tooth, our ‘presentation of macarons’ practical class is the one for you. In this fun and engaging class, Olivier will teach you how to make macarons with a wide variety of scrumptious fillings to tempt anyone’s taste buds.

Whether you’re already a patisserie prodigy or have never picked up a whisk before, Olivier will show you the ins and outs of how to concoct the most delicately delicious macarons. What’s more, they’re also vegetarian and gluten-free, so everyone can enjoy what our class has to offer.

Our first class is taking place on Saturday 15th October between 10am and 1pm, so if you’d like to come along, you can book your place here.

Showcasing choux pastry

If you fancy being transported to the romantic streets of Paris, you’ll love our ‘presentation of choux pastry’ masterclass. Through several expert demonstrations, Olivier will teach you the secrets of Parisian patisserie with traditional treats like choux puffs, chocolate eclairs, and croquembouche.

In this demonstration masterclass, you’ll watch Olivier work his magic and leave the class with a box of delicious patisseries to take home – bon appetit!

Why not book your place on our first class, taking place on Saturday 1st October between 10am and 1pm? You never know, you could be Birmingham’s next best pastry chef – after Olivier, of course!

Amazing afternoon tea patisseries

In our ‘presentation of afternoon tea patisseries’ masterclass, you’ll find the perfect mix of French and British cuisine. French patisserie is an indulgence to be enjoyed at any time, with the finest ingredients and the most exquisite tastes. Paired with the quintessentially British tradition of afternoon tea, you’ll find yourself with an Anglo-French favourite on your hands.

Olivier will walk you through everything you need to know to make the sweet treats you’d expect to see on a three-tiered cake stand, giving them an inventive twist. And of course, you’ll leave with plenty of delights to enjoy at home – if they last that long!

You can book onto our first class, taking place on Saturday 24th September between 12pm and 3pm, here.

So, whether you fancy becoming a master of macarons, a pastry professional, or an afternoon tea ace, we can’t wait to welcome you to our cookery classes! We’d love to hear from you, so get in touch and keep an eye out for our cookery school updates on social media.
